-CRATER: Unfinished Utopia-

Here are a few concepts for the Disney film Crater. The "Arched Dome" is the final look of an abandoned construction site on the moon that the kids encountered during their Lunar “road trip”. While the other is an earlier design with a more conventional and less sci-fi take on the construction.
The wonderful direction by the Production Designer, Nora Takacs Ekberg, pointed to great architectural inspirations of Oscar Niemeyer and Eero Saarinen. I also tried to inject a good dose of retro science fiction vibe into the look as well. The cool Rover is designed by Dan Walker. Fantastic work by the VFX team realizing the concept. It was a good film that I had a great time working on.
